My Story
I was born and raised in Sydney, Australia to a Thai Isaan mother and Lao/Tai-Dam father. A huge part of my spiritual and healing journey was understanding and learning about my ancestral and cultural roots. I feel there is much wisdom we can learn from our elders. The act of listening to generational stories of love, heartbreak, perseverance and hope has had a grounding impact. I have more appreciation for the present and in the small things in life. It has also shown me what the gift of our presence can have on others too.
I value family, connection and community. When I discovered transpersonal art therapy and its holistic and gentle approach to healing, it was no surprise why I resonated so deeply with it. I value living a life true to my soul calling, my dharma, and where I can inspire and encourage others to share their own wisdom, experiences and stories.
Curiosity and passion for learning led me to complete my formal studies in fine arts at UNSW, where I also graduated with a Masters of Curating & Cultural Leadership in 2017. I have worked with Fairfield Museum & Gallery, Reverse Garbage and have been involved in projects with Blacktown Arts Centre and Casula Powerhouse.
I am currently running creative ageing programs as part of HammondCare's Arts on Prescription program in Wahroonga, Hammondville and Braeside Hospital in Prairiewood. I am based in South West Sydney and work across the wider Sydney region.
In my spare time, I love to be in nature, cook my favourite Thai desserts, nurture my see-food appetite and make handmade incense.
All forms of art expressions can be a powerful tool to understand more about ourselves and the world around us.
I believe the world has the capacity to be an ocean of knowledge for all human beings to (re)discover and (re)explore their innate creative gifts - hidden, present or emerging. To be human, is to experience the chalice of multilayered human emotions, feelings, needs, wants and desires. We have needs which are constantly changing. We are conditioned by the environment around us. Yet, we are beings of endless possibilities.
We were meant to be born unique, to show others different ways of being and living as a collective. I wholeheartedly believe we have the capacity to transform ourselves, integrating both our inner world (what we keep private) and outer world (what we show on the outside). Art and all its forms can shine a light to and amplify parts of ourselves we are still discovering and uncovering.
