What is transpersonal art therapy?Transpersonal art therapy is a whole person approach to wellbeing which means it addresses a person’s mental, physical, emotional, creative, social, spiritual and intellectual needs. It is centred on providing holistic support in a non-judgmental space for you to safely share personal experiences, thoughts and emotions and creatively express yourself across all art forms. Art therapy can be strongly therapeutic as we (re)connect with our innate creativity, inner child and bring in our sense of wonder and curiosity to the table.

What can I expect from a session?A supportive and non-judgmental space for you to safely share personal experiences, thoughts and emotions and creatively express yourself across all art forms - this can range from drawing, clay work, working with nature, creative writing or even movement and dance. A session may be focused on a certain theme. During a session we may start off with a meditation or visualisation, followed by creative prompts, reflections and wrap up. Art therapy can also be about exploring art materials you've never worked before or haven't worked with in a while.

What do I need to prepare before a session?ONLINE A4 paper or art pad, pastels/crayons or coloured pencils if available. Ideally finding a quiet space where you are free from distractions. IN PERSON Just bring yourself and a sense of curiosity!

How much does it cost?1:1 Art Therapy session: 1 hour - $110 Group Art Therapy: Negotiable - please get in touch with me to discuss cost for group sessions.

Do I have to be a skilled artist to participate in a session?No, you don’t have to be an artist. There is no experience required to be able to participate. Art therapy is not an art class and I am not analysing your work. Instead, art therapy encourages you to explore your creative self.
